OnePlus 6T review - Camera, Processor and Performance

By Aslam

Oneplus was known for progressive models which have a better processor, improved cameras or adopting new industry trends or norms. This time, with Oneplus 6T, it's about a new unique fingerprint sensor and a smaller notch

Additionally, the makers are removing some features which are previously oriented to lure tech lovers. Let’s see how it imparts impression on the testing scale.

OnePlus 6T Design
The OnePlus 6T feels fairly new but not that much from its predecessor which was released a few months back. The earpiece planted into the crease where the front glass meets the telephone's metal edge does not cause any uneasiness.

The screen at 6.41 inches is marginally bigger than the predecessor OnePlus 6 display. The corners have wide bends, and lamentably some UI components and full-screen applications seem as though they've been cut off ungracefully.

The screen protector that comes with OnePlus 6T does not flawlessly coordinate with the bends of the screen and so reduces the smooth look of this telephone. The phone likewise gets scratches and smudges way too easily.

OnePlus 6T Features
As the phone succeeds OnePlus 6 after a few months of its launch, it is quite obvious to compare the features of both phones.

The phone runs on same Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor at up to 2.8GHz with incorporated Adreno 630 graphics. The phone comes with (128GB + 6GB/ 8GB ), and ( 8GB of RAM + 256GB ).

The screen resolution is enhanced from 1080x2280 to 1080x2340. The Battery of OnePlus 6T is additionally up, from 3300mAh to 3700mAh with a result of weight increment from 177g to 185g.

There are no progressions at all to the camera equipment with similarly no changes in Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 5 with aptX and aptX HD, and GLONASS. The OnePlus 6T incorporates a gyroscope, e-compass, hall sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, and ambient light sensor.

OnePlus 6T comes with Gorilla Glass 6, however, it doesn't guarantee any water or dust protection. No wireless charging, USB 2.0 transfer speed through Type-C port no microSD card slot. However, concerning the huge internal storage, that’s not required.

OnePlus 6T Software
The OnePlus 6T comes with Android 9.0 Pie covered with OnePlus' OxygenOS 9 UI. The OnePlus skin is equipped with numerous customization making the navigation and phone application management better.

OnePlus 6T Performance and Battery life

The powerful Snapdragon 845 processor makes the phone quite fast. Applications and games open quickly and you would find no issue in daily usage. During gaming sessions, charging or camera usage, the back of OnePlus 6T get a bit warm to eel but not to concern.

Fingerprint Sensor

The fingerprint sensor on the screen is a cool feature to show off but not quite helpful in daily use. You have to wake the phone to use this sensor and also have to look at the screen during marking as there is no physical point to know the exact location of marking. The face detection feature works great.

OnePlus 6T Display

The display colours of OnePlus 6T are dynamic which makes everything pop up, regardless of what you're doing. Some may find it a bit more saturated while others love it. The single mono speaker is loud.

OnePlus 6T Gaming and Processor Performance

Playing PUBG or Asphalt 9: Legends does not bring any lag and you will find these games a bit light for this powerful beast. The phone easily runs all heavy games.

OnePlus 6T Battery

The Battery life of OnePlus 6T is efficient in day to day tasks. The fast charge features works as expected.

OnePlus 6T Camera

The camera specifications are same as OnePlus 6 but the camera programming has been changed like new Night Mode. It takes up to 10 clicks in two seconds and makes a single perfect image. However, it does not leave much difference from normal clicks.

The clicks in the daytime were extremely beautiful. The clicks from a distance, or in direct sunlight or in HDR mode, all works fine.
The pics taken in the evening were also satisfactory with good exposure of light but lacks detail in zooming.

Whether to Buy OnePlus 6T or Not?

Even with all the highly spoken features of OnePlus 6T, there is no solid reason to bring this phone over OnePlus 6. The waterdrop feature and fingerprint sensor is not a feature to bring a new phone in the market. However, if you don’t have any OnePlus phone and considering to buy one, you can go for this OnePlus 6T which is aesthetic in its design and super fast in its performance.
